Labor Week
This week was full of homework, chores and football. Fall weather isn't quite here yet but I am ready for pumpkin candles, soap, bread, and decorations. I love this time of the year. Except for the homework part which is a large part of my life right now. Accounting and a Marketing Analytics class are keeping me busy. So labor day was more like labor week.
The highlight was going to young women's for the first time. Last week I went to my first presidency meeting where I got to know the other ladies that I will be working with and got to hear about the girls in our young women's group. We are combined with the Spanish branch and only three girls from the Spanish branch (who are all sisters) come to church on Sundays but then we get two others at activities on Wednesdays. All of them require transportation to the church and they live at opposite sides of the ward so we meet at 7:00 but start picking people up around 6:15 and don't get home until 8:45ish. It's a bigger time commitment than what I am used to but after meeting the girls I know it will be so worth it. Our first activity was a painting activity. Apparently the girls all really enjoy crafts and Spongebob so our paintings were supposed to have a Spongebob theme to them. I painted Sandy the squirrel in Squirrel Hill (the neighborhood we live in) wearing a Pirates shirt. It was a lot of fun getting to know the girls I look forward to being back in young women's again.
Peaches
- Bought new pumpkin candles
- Birthday season is back, we went and left Keile a frozen yogurt giftcard and some facemasks for her to treat herself. When she opened the door she looked a little frazzled and said Emie had been having a rough day. We went inside and helped her finish making some banana bread and chatted with her. Also interesting happening after we were setting up the porch and she came out to see it her neighbor across the street came over and said he had filmed us setting up the porch and surprising her and said he'd send the video to us if we wanted. It was kind of creepy, we tried to decline the video as politely as possible. I hope he deleted it.
- Went on a walk while I listened to one of my lectures
- Made Chinese chicken salad and meatballs
- Football and homework
