Past, Present, Future

This week we moved over to Jeff and Amy's house. We like to split our time between families when we come home and usually stay with each side for a couple of weeks. My boss surprised us with extra time off so my family took Jaden up skiing for the first time. We just went up to Wolf Mountain aka Nordic Valley. He absolutely loved it and wants to get more into it. I have been telling him for years he would really like it and that I want our future kids to ski. I think once we finally get back to Utah we'll be a skiing family. My family all said he did way better than they had anticipated and he really did awesome.

The rest of the week was filled with visiting friends and family and making the most of our time off and back home. It can be really stressful trying to coordinate visits with everyone on a time crunch and over the holidays so I decided to put together a party for a bunch of the girls from high school. I decided to do it on New Year's Eve and make it past, present and future themed. I asked everyone to write down a past memory from high school, present recap of what is going on in their life and something fun they have planned in the future year. My mom and I ordered a bunch of balloons and plastic table cloths and made a big backdrop which was a lot of fun. I can't believe that I didn't get a group picture of everyone. We were all just so busy chatting it up and eating brunch we totally forgot to snap a picture all together.

New Years is such a good time to ponder past memories, examine the present and look forward to the future. I'm glad I could do that with a bunch of my friends from high school and am so excited to see what this upcoming year brings!

Peaches
  • The Moyle family all got together at Grandma's new place to do a little Christmas party together. Her health has ebbed and flowed and there have been several days we didn't think she was going to make it but she continues to surprise us by pulling through. My dad put it best when he said "Grandma grew up on a dairy farm and learned how to pull herself up by her bootstraps and keep on working. She's still that tough farm girl and is fighting hard to be here with all of us."

  • Hung out with Hayes while I worked one day

  • Reuniting so many of my friends from high school that I haven't seen in YEARS. COVID messed up our 5 year reunion so this was kind of like a substitute with the people I care the most about
  • Taking Jaden skiing for the first time. I was so proud of him
  • Putting together decorations and party planning with mom. She's the ultimate party planner and taught me how to make anything and everything a celebration

Pits

  • I had a weird stomach pain when we were up skiing so we decided we should probably get it checked out while we were in UT and insurance isn't such a goat rope. The instacare was a mad house becuase the other two local Instacares were closed. They ended up sending us over to Emergency Room to get imaging where they confirmed it wasn't appendicitis or anything. A follow-up with my primary care doc a few days later told me that I had a hernia and kidney stone. So that's fun.
