Widgetz Inc., Furniture Sale, & Easter

This week we had a full on movie crew over at our apartment, sold all  of our furniture, and celebrated Easter. It was a great week.

I was informed at the beginning of the week that a film crew would be entering our apartment for the majority of the morning and afternoon. The boys and their other team member Salma needed to film a promotional video for their capstone project and after a failed attempt at reserving a room on campus to film their backup was our apartment. With some slight rearranging and a lot of hand written signs we altered our living room to become Widgetz Inc. headquarters. Jaden became Bob a small to medium sized business owner who started Widgetz Inc. specializing in gadgets and gizmos a plenty. Bob had an issue where he divulged some personal info in a public place that led to him getting hacked. However not to fear, the framework that the boys and Salma have created can save the day and prevent future attacks from happening. It was entertaining to watch and participate in writing the signs needed for filming and I can't wait to see it when it's all done. Jaden is Bob, Salma is the hacker, Zach is the guy who wears many hats he is the IT, Sales Guy and Finance Guy. Tanner was the cameraman and Taylor is the voice over. I have no doubt it is going to end up being so funny to watch.

HUGE news from our new renters that signed the lease after we leave. They want to buy ALL of our furniture! Jade had the brilliant idea when I put together a PDF of pictures of all of our furniture and pricing to give them a lump sum for everything at a slight discount. They decided to take it all and we couldn't be more relieved. We get to leave all of our furniture right where it is which will make moving an absolute breeze!

As for our Easter celebrations we received an Easter basket in the mail from my parents with some decorations, a new Easter book and some candy. It was really sweet of my mom and made us feel a little bit closer to them and their celebrations. For Young Women's one of the girls taught us how to make pom-poms and I turned mine into a bunny in lieu of Easter being right around the corner. It was a really fun night with lots of laughs. I am going to miss everyone when we have to move!

Finally we had Easter church which brought it all together. Always good to ponder the life and resurrection of the Savior and the perspective it brings to us. This Easter was even more special after losing my grandma thinking about how comforting it is that we'll all be reunited one day! So grateful for my Savior. I know He lives!

Peaches
  • The new tenants are going to take ALLLL of our stuff!!!!
  • I saved all of our receipts from when we first moved out here and was able to look through and answer some questions about the furniture the new tenants had. And now I get to throw them all away because they are purchasing it all and we don't have to move it. I am sooooo relieved!!!

  • I don't know if this is a peach or a pit but Taylor told us his parents got him a frame for his diploma and he went and picked it up at the school and was shocked at how huge it is. We were all laughing wondering how big the actual diploma is going to be!

  • Zach and Jenna made yummy cheesecake bars for dessert

  • Reading my favorite Easter talk Sunday Will Come by Joseph B. Wirthlin

  • I think of Grandma Moyle every time I see purple pansies. She loved the primary song "Little Purple Pansies"

  • Snapped a pic of the city map as a slice of pizza. I read somewhere that Pittsburgh is like the third largest pizza hub in the US behind NYC and Orlando I think... go ahead and fact check me though

  • Been turning over a new leaf and trying to get into a better routine now that I'm not staying up super late doing homework. I've started going to the gym in the mornings with Jaden and his buddy Daniel. The sunrises make waking up earlier worth it, as does the feeling of accomplishment from starting your day off with a workout

  • Had to snap some pics of Jaden and Daniel in front of their flag football team picture hanging in the rec center attached to the school's gym.

  • Placed an order for Grove Collaborative for some cleaning supplies and was very impressed by all the freebies you get on your first order. I love Mrs. Meyers dish soap and all-purpose cleaner and think I'll start ordering it through Grove along with some other more natural cleaning supplies.

  • Spring has sprung. There are more and more flowers blooming every day!

  • Prepped some cookie dough for when mom comes into town next week.

Pits
  • I chose to go to a sourdough pizza place for date night and I immediately had regret after ordering a pesto pizza. I should've stuck with something more standard like pepperoni when first trying a new place. It wasn't very good, which is why I hate picking restaurants when we go out. I choose meals 6/7 days a week, why do I also need to pick the restaurant!? Too much pressure.

  • Still waiting to hear back from EY about Jaden's start date. All of our apartments we toured are pestering us about applying but we don't want to pull any triggers before we know when we want to try to move out there. I have been putting together a design board because I can't wait to decorate with a Southwestern vibe

  • Someone parked right in front of our neighbor's driveway trapping in someone from the rental agency so they called the tow truck and had them towed. I have never seen a car get towed before. It was interesting and such a bummer for that person that took the gamble and parked in front of a driveway
